13/10/08 - You Don't Do Travel, eh? I Didn't Until...

Way back when, I couldn't understand what Kirsty found so attractive about travelling the world. Up to a few months ago, I didn't have a passport and holidayed around Britain. Why explore the world if you haven't seen the UK?

Anyhoo, an overseas holiday disparaged that theory, after returning to the UK with a travel bug. I'm keen on seeing various areas of America (New York, more of Florida, etc.), Canada, Lapland :-) and a few more places.

01/10/08 - So It's Christmas Again :-(

Affiliate life is a funny one. Christmas starts in September. January sales are in December, Valentine's Day is in January, Easter is in February, as well as all the other lovely bits and bobs worth promoting at various times throughout the year.

It can be a bit disappointing working on Christmas promotions from September to December which explains why I haven't started. Aptly named Frostie assures us that it's not too late to start.

There are several goals you will have put in place when developing a new website. More than likely they are:

  1. To fulfil a purpose
  2. To fill a gap in the market
  3. To make money consistently
That's about it. In affiliate marketing, it's not enough just creating a hobby site. It won't make you enough money to warrant the time you invest in it.

Do you know how incredibly difficult it is to try and book a holiday (honeymoon)?

I've spent two days price checking sites, only to find out that they all use different figures. Some include taxes and transfers, other's don't. Some include flights, other don't.

But there's a major flaw with travel affiliate programmes: leakage. More
