29/12/10 - New Year's Resolutions

Wow, that's another year down. In January I celebrate my 2nd wedding anniversary which is crazy as I'm sure it hasn't been that long we've been married!

Anyhow, with another notch on the wall, it's time for the annual set of good intentions. Perhaps this year I'll take note! More

13/08/10 - Inspired Advertising Request

Inspired by the success of the Dom Hodgson/Groupon advertising deal and the Mark Boyd/Affiliate Window advertising deal, I thought I'd try a cheeky request of my own.

In both deals, the brands got exclusive advertising deals in exchange for an iPad. It's a clever idea and I like it, so I'd thought I'd give it a go myself, given the distinct lack of any advertising on this site at present. As with affiliate marketing you stand a much better chance of success being the first to market so I don't think anything will come of this but there's no harm in trying! More

27/04/10 - My Trip To Venice

I had booked my Red Letter Days incentive to Venice for this weekend just gone by. Thanks to the volcanic ash, we (wifey and me) didn't know if we would be able to go, let alone come back! The restrictions were eased last week and we travelled over to Gatwick Airport fully expecting our flight to be cancelled. Thankfully, Easyjet were running as normal so we managed to jet off for a long weekend to Venice. More

19/01/10 - I'm a Twit!

According to my mother I'm not a twit but more a tweeter, as I now tweet rather than twit.

The point here is that I've taken the plunge and registered for a Twitter account. It's taken Rob a long long time to convince me to sign up. I wasn't convinced of it's merits but he was and told me that if I did one thing in 2010, signing up was it. More

08/01/09 - Happy New Year!

Okay so I'm a little bit out on this but for good reason. January is a pain.

The 3-4 month lead up to Christmas is tiring in itself. The bombardment of emails (mainly voucher code related) as well as the ritual pausing of key affiliate programs for the second year on the trot due to "technical issues" (aka we don't need your help at the moment) takes it's toll.

For most, back to work in January is a miserable time so it's only right affiliates enjoy this same feeling :-D More

08/09/08 - Apologies For The Downtime

I had set a few articles about my recipes site to appear whilst on my free holiday from Sunshine.

All was good and well until a rogue plugin kept crashing the server. The plugin had been running for a year so I can only presume it was the content of a post or the server had been updated. Nevertheless, the avoid any hassle, the site was taken down until the plugin could be safely removed (which it has now been). More

07/09/08 - Back From Orlando!

If all has gone to plan, you'll have not noticed I've been sunning myself in Orlando, Florida. I should have landed and returned back to wet Wales by now.

24/05/08 - New Comment Policy

The comments on this blog have been free from the nofollow tag for some time now as I believe that relevant comments should be rewarded. If you've taken the time to read and comment on a post, you can quite happily post a link to your site which may be of benefit to readers of the blog.

However, comment spam is becoming more intelligent these days. Spammers are actually reading the blog! Because of this, I am changing the blog comment policy to reflect changes to the way I'm receiving comments.

I'm sure not so long ago the term 'cashback' produced results such as Quidco in Google. Well it seems that since Cashback The Movie came on the scenes, most cashback sites have been relegated to page 2 and beyond.

I've added my phone number to all the major networks I'm registered with just in case I'm missing out on anything.

Several other affiliates have posted about the phone calls at 5.30pm and the like, but I'm interested to see whether I'll get any calls! More

21/12/07 - Is It Wrong To Expect A Thanks?

I've just been reading Kieron's thank you list for Christmas presents from networks and merchants. Now he's turning over thousands of pounds and is a rock solid 'super affiliate'.

But what about us little people? I've had nothing this year. I've had one impersonal email saying "Seasons Greetings". No cards, no freebies, no presents. I'm not saying I expect anything but when my inbox is rammed full of commission change emails, it would be nice to have a "Merry Christmas David" email from someone. I'm not too bothered about presents. I had nothing last year, I have nothing this year and will probably not get anything for sometime.

But where's the festive love? More

Firstly, Merry Christmas to all my readers.

Secondly, I think this blog will go quiet now for a couple of weeks. As it's the festive season, I'm busy on other projects and tying up loose ends so I'm not sure I've got enough time.

30/11/07 - Apologies For The Silence

I've spent the last few days eBaying (both selling and buying) and spent yesterday travelling 350 miles to collect an auction item I won.

I'm guilty of having not really done too much with my affiliate sites at the moment. EBay seems to be eating up a hefty chunk of time and whilst I am profiting from my actions, it's not by much (affiliate revenue is certainly higher). More

Did you know that if you post a comment on this website, Google will follow it as I do not use the nofollow tag?

Some blogs (predominantly Wordpress) use nofollow rules by default which means you won't get fair recognition by the search engines for your comment.
