I have now implemented statistics on this website.
This means I can get an overview of my visitors - where they come from and what they searched for to get here. I can also see which countries send the most traffic.
So why bother?
Well, statistics are great for analysing where your visitors come from and how. If you know 95% of your visitors type in "money making ideas blog" into Google and you target your keywords to the audience that search for "become an Internet millionaire", you are losing the 95% potential visitors or customers searching for "money making ideas blog".
We shall go into greater depth later on when the demo site gets launched. I shall share the statistics with you and show you what it is I am doing to target my site for these keywords.
If you run a PHP based website, you may wish to use PHP iStats 1.2. This is a good piece of software (though not perfect). It is the best trade off I could make. I want more in depth statistics but I have not found anything that can give me the correct amount. Perhaps later on I shall build a customised application to do this. Until then, PHP iStats 1.2 (free to use) will do.
If you want to see what kind of reports PHP iStats 1.2 produces, visit the PHP iStats 1.2 Demo.
