Merchandise and Freebies

I am not sure about you but I love freebies!

I also like to feel proud about sites I have created, and especially successful ones.

Most of my sites have text based logos so it is nice to have a vector based image in the logo of Compare Sat Nav.

So here is what I am going to do with the first £500 of revenue.

I want to get some viral promotional work going. Viral promotion is something that spreads quickly and creates a buzz.

So, I am going to get a quantity of items professionally printed with my logo.

From a distribution perspective, smaller items are better as they are cheaper to post. I personally think something related to a car would be a good promotional item. A keyring, a car sticker, etc.

I have had a look around a few websites and quite like the idea of:

I really like these ideas too but unfortunately (at this stage in the project), they are too expensive:

I would also like to get a fleece, jumper and / or T-Shirt printed with my logo. Let's face it, for the next few months I am going to spend every waking hour designing, promoting and tweaking (and every sleeping hour dreaming!). It would be nice to have something that I can wear to promote my site. A walking billboard!

The aim is to give the smaller items away free to the 'next x people' who subscribe to the Compare Sat Nav newsletter (not yet launched). I will be launching an email newsletter campaign in the near future and then once I have had the promotional items printed (after £500 commission), I will then launch the give away.

Then, with regards to the clothing, I will have to get a minimum quantity (usually 5), so I will have a few to give away as part of a competition.

Speaking of competitions, I will be looking to run bigger and better competitions in the future, with sat nav systems as prizes.
