Your niche site should be a very specialised and individual site. It should not try and be the jack of all trades but should be a concise set of information, offers, adverts and sticky features.
I highly recommend a price checking script called Price Tapestry for use on your site.
It is PHP based and is very flexible.
So at £55 today, why should you buy this script?
There are a number of reasons.
As I said earlier, it is flexible. Take a look at the Satellite Navigation Price Comparison section of Compare Sat Nav and you will see how great the script looks and works.
It is template driven so all you have to do is change a few files to have a completely fresh website!
The script is designed with XML and CSV files in mind from the likes of Tradedoubler, Affiliate Future and Online Media Group. Price Tapestry is based upon another script from the same person called Magic Parser. On it's own, Magic Parser can play with CSV and XML files but cannot do any price comparison. Despite being just £25 (today), you would be better off paying £55 (today) for Price Tapestry.
This is an honest opinion. Take a look at the Price Tapestry Forums. Look for the number of posts by dmorison. He (a fellow David) is the software developer and he seems to spend most of his time online in his forum. He offers superb help as do the rest of the forum team.
If you are serious about making money online through affiliate marketing, try Price Tapestry. At £55 (today), it may sound a lot but I have made 4 times that back in one month just by running a test site - that is a site with no marketing whatsoever.
Besides, I usually hover around the Price Tapestry Forums under the pseudonym of dbfcs so if you want any help, there is a very good place to start.

Hi David,
I'm planning on creating a small games price comparison site. Do you think Pricetapestry could filter the games for a particular platform from muliple feeds?

You can filter out particular products with PT. It takes time to set up but once it works, every time you import the feed, it follows the same rules and excludes the required products. An example of this is at http://www.lingeriehelper.c... with the Ann Summers feeds. Adult toys are not required so are excluded using some rules I've created.

I purchased one of your templates, very nice work. How long after search engine submissions, did you start to see some return on this script, in your opinion. It can take months to index, I know, I was just interested in getting some feedback. You don't see any feed back in the prices tapstry forums. Are there any success stories out there with this script that yoo know of?

@Alex - I've replied via email.
I really like Price Tapestry. I find it very easy to use. It's SEO friendly out of the box, though template purchased at http://www.pricetapestrytem... have a few tweaks pre-installed.
As for indexing, it can take some time as with any site. Remember to submit your sitemap to Google and keep updating your site. Persevere and prosper!

@Acer - Please read the article again where it states how much I made back and how quickly.
PS) I removed your link (non-PT link anyway) as the other comments you posted were spam, leading me to assume this is too.
