I suppose I should have asked this a long time ago but did I didn't!
Is it feasible to assume with a lot of work, Compare Sat Nav and any other affiliate sites I set up can earn me a reasonable income?
I understand that it takes a lot of work but given that, is the idea feasible?
I posted this to the A4U Forum and here are some of the responses I received:
"After just five years of hard work, trial and error (ie paid to read email sites and selling ebooks on ebay etc) , and living on the bread line, I now solely sit here all day and make a full time living from designing website around my market research and a keen eye up and coming products and services." [Barry]
"I know a few of our affiliates that wouldnt take a pay cut at the 6 figure salary Sir Alan Sugar offers on the apprentice" [morleymouse]
"You can easily make £10k a year with a bit of practice or a bit of luck." [Ian]
"Affiliate Marketing follows the general rules of life....The more you put into it the more you will get out of it!" [RobH]
"If you make an interesting, unique website, you could make £10K on adsense or other contextual PPC advertising easily. Let alone other revenue streams. Pick something you're interested in, and just go for it." [Axod]
"The scope to make a decent living is definitely there - the scope to make a fortune is also there - its really is about putting in hard work!" [Alfie]
"I make my living solely on the internet, just celebrated my first year anniversary doing it too! It's not impossible, it's not simple either. You have to find something that works and work the snot out of it. Then find something else that works and work the snot out of that. Keep building and eventually you have an empire." [Beejeebers]
All this makes for interesting reading. It certainly seems to be feasible to assume that if I put a lot of work into setting up a portfolio of different affiliate sites, they should all be successful so long as I put the effort in.
There seems to be a lot of talk of Pay Per Click advertising which is something I have never tried - I'm a PPC virgin!
Perhaps this means another spending spree at Amazon?!
One thing is for sure though - I certainly need to crank up the amount of work that I am doing on Compare Sat Nav. I think I am already doing a lot of work but I need to boost the low conversion rate and start my attack on link building soon.
Compare Sat Nav needs to start earning decent money soon...
