I have decided upon what it is I am going to devote several months of my life to full time.
I will have three sites in my empire:
I am aware that these markets are huge so I will be focussing in on small niches.
So why have I chosen these areas and what benefits can I deliver?
Let's start with the property site.
Property is an over crowded market with players such as
Right Move and
Up My Street. However, such sites primarily focus on house listings or house development.
I want to focus on house development but look more towards the gadget-y side of life. Initial thoughts are of creating a blog style website.
In terms of revenue, it will be through affiliate schemes offered by electrical retailers, mortgage providers, insurance providers and more.
I have lots of ideas for a site like this and so the key here is starting small and growing.
Uploading 1,000 pages with "under construction" imprinted on them will not benefit anyone.
As for the second site, I am going to develop a custom script that determines what computer specifications a user requires. Whilst it may sound a bit pie in the sky, there is a market for such a site. Plus, the affiliate revenue comes in from recommending computer systems and upgrades.
No names have been secured yet but by Monday, I should be able to release such information.
As for timescale, I now have the following schedule:
- Monday:
- Compare Sat Nav
- Tuesday: Property
- Wednesday: Computers
- Thursday: Property
- Friday: Buffer day (if no crisis needs dealing with, this will be spent on Compare Sat Nav or the property site
- Saturday and Sunday: Off
Remember the aim here is to develop a portfolio of popular sites. They need to offer benefits to the visitor and return an income.
Besides, if they are really good (along the lines of
del.icio.us,
YouTube or
MyBlogLog), I may have my portfolio snapped up by
Google or
Yahoo. Okay, perhaps not then but there's no harm in dreaming - set your sights high and aim even higher!
