Thursday, 08 March 2007
I am going to rebuild BlogRoll next week as it is starting to show some cracks.
Rather than use my own code, I am going to use dedicated software.
As it stands I currently use Yahoo Pipes to format some of the RSS feeds, then use it to aggregate all the RSS feeds. Feedburner is then used to serve the RSS file.
Going through so many channels inevitably slows down the progress of delivering an aggregated feed.
Also, the whole process is only as strong as the weakest link. So if one RSS feed is very slow to download, it slows everything else down. And there are two culprits for that!
The feed address will still remain as http://feeds.feedburner.com/UkAffiliateMarketingBlogs
The URL will also remain as http://www.davidfiske.com/blogroll/
I will post here when this is completed. Hopefully, it will be a lot more stable and reliable than it has been.
