James Little had highlighted a flaw in Google Maps that suggests you swim 3,000 miles to Chicago.
This appears to extend to most of America by the looks of it - I tried Glasgow to Lapland.
Firstly, from Glasgow we need to go to France. I'm not quite sure why. Maybe it would be less of a distance from France than from the UK.
Anyway, the total distance we are about to do is 5,130 miles (just think of the carbon emmissions!) which Google proudly estimates as "about 30 days 5 hours". After 30 days, I wouldn't really be bothered about the hours!

Like James' example, Google suggests we swim for part of it:

I'm not expert but I think swimming 3,462 miles is nigh on impossible!
This is reminiscent of the RAC Map error which suggested a route that involved visiting France and Ireland to get to Devon from Birmingham, avoiding motorways!
