Yahoo has been around for a long time and so have the adverts that appear on it.
But affiliates is the main have yet to catch onto the idea of using small adverts.
Here's a screenshot from Yahoo Mail:

Small images of logos next to text.
Saves on space and it loads quickly. Also, when the user clicks on any of the links in the navigation panel (e.g. Inbox), they see the ads.
This is not new but like I said, it's yet to be exploited fully in the mainstream.
Perhaps SHOUTING about adverts is no longer required?
