I stumbled across Tag a Cloud today:



The site offers free text links on a viral basis.
 
The theory behind the site is simple.

Register for a free tag.

Then promote your tag.

The more people that visit your tag, the higher you appear on the site. Also, the style of the link changes to a more prominent font face and colour.

To give you an idea, the home page is PageRank 6 so if you can get on there, that will help your rankings.

As I said, it's free so you've got nothing to lose!
