Up to date, fresh websites help to encourage repeat visitors.
It can also foster link building.
A website that sees updates on a regular basis will have more reasons for people to link to them. Links include backlinks, reciprocal links and bookmarks.
Don't forget social bookmarking sites. Getting your website bookmarked on these is a vote of confidence in favour of your website. It probably will not be anywhere near the Digg effect but nonetheless, it's better than a kick in the teeth!
So forget about creating a billion pages from product feeds and focus on creating real, useful content.
Create each article on a separate webpage and optimise the URL and the content.
Make sure all pages are accessible from anywhere on the site to maximise spidering ability.
That's what I'm up to now. Price comparisons are all good and well but I need real content, real links and real visitors to progress any further. Watch this space!
