Two Heads Better Than One?

I've been reading a lot recently about affiliates who are joining forces and building sites together.

Is this the way forward?

The way these work is that both affiliates create a website. I presume for the relationship to work, there has to be a lot of trust, and a difference in skills sets. There's no point of two designers working together as they'll struggle just as much on the marketing side as if they were apart.

So perhaps one builds the site and manages the content whilst the other goes off an promotes it like mad.

I also presume that partnerships can be built around PPC. Perhaps the stronger partner can teach the weaker partner how to successfully run campaigns so that they both run very successful campaigns.

Then each month, the total commissions gets added up and divided by two.

But is this sensible? I know that some people work well in teams and others don't but there is a risk of fraud and deception within a partnership is there not? Who owns the domains? Who's account is used for affiliate tracking? Who's account is used for PPC?

Interesting concept but when it comes to revenue sharing, I'm sure this is risky territory!
