Website Analysis For Crazy Frog Fans

Today's analysis is of Crazy Frog Fans.

Before I go any further, I'm not going to design a template for this site for reasons that will become clear shortly. Here's the current design:

Crazy Frog

If you haven't heard of the Crazy Frog, then where were you. Emphasis on the were because it appears that Crazy Frog has had it's heyday. nevertheless, the legacy of Crazy Frog should live on for a while.

Because the Frog was a fad, it can be difficult to keep traffic visiting the site. Perhaps the Frog may make a comeback but with the restrictions on advertising to kids, this may make it incredibly difficult to sell a ringtone as well as this.

Anyway, back to the site.

It's PageRank 3 with an Alexa score of 2,830,112. Again, similarly to Chavs Test, it seems to struggle on the traffic front. It also fails on the XHTML validation and produces warnings on the speed test.

Again, this site suffers from over exposure of AdSense ads but I applaud the Jamster ads. These are highly targeted and suit the content.

There's a link on this sit to sign up to AdSense, which I have said before seems redundant.

This site seems to have the most content so far, with more pages in the menu.

I was going to make a suggestion of advertising Crazy Frog merchandise until I saw the link to the shop. But I don't think the link is explicit enough. I would like to see a more obvious link to the merchandise section so that visitors who land on the site after searching for "Crazy Frog Backpack" know exactly where to go.

Analysis fans will also be glad to hear there is a quiz and it turns out I am 27% fanatical about the Crazy frog. Err, slightly worrying!

Crazy Frog Fans Quiz

The news section hasn't been updated for a while and so makes the site look stale. That's the problem with blogs and news feeds. If they aren't updated regularly, they look old and out of date.

In summary, there is little that needs to be done here. Update the news and make the shop a bit more prominent. Oh and try and get some traffic. A boost in traffic should help to promote the other sites that are linked, as well as generate some affiliate revenue. Plus, shrink the AdSense down to a reasonable size. Other than that, in terms of the design, I would perhaps look at changing the background to a light blue as the Frog is blue. Apparently blue and green should never be seen. There we are then!
