Today's analysis is for Mobile Cellphone Ringtones.
Here's the deal. This website is exactly like the Chavs Test and the Posh Test:

It has a PageRank 3 and an Alexa score of 6.4 million.
Hence, I'm going to approach this on slightly differently. I'm going to explain what I would do if I was building the site from scratch.
Firstly, the domain name is US based. We don't call mobile phones cellphones so there is little point in targeting UK visitors. I'm out of my depth here as I deal with UK only merchants so here's what I do if the domain was UK based. I suppose the advice can be related to the USA.
People would land on my site because they were looking for ringtones. It's in the domain name so you cannot escape this fact. So, emphasis has to go on selling ringtones.
So that would be one part of the site. Another feature at the moment is a quiz asking how annoying is your mobile phone. I'm not sure I get the point of it as I didn't expect to find a quiz. In my mind, http://mobilecellphoneringtones.com offers ringtones not a quiz. So I would scrap that unless it is attracting a lot of visitors. Sometimes these things may appear illogical but they attract visitors so it has to stay.
I would make the other part of the site a mobile phone section. Yes, okay, people visit the site for ringtones but what happens if they see a mobile they like and impulse buy it? What happens if a cookie is dropped and after thinking about it for a week, they go an buy. This is a massive potential revenue stream though it will fall on deaf ears with an Alexa score of 6.4 million. Traffic needs to be increased to make the effort put into it pay off.
Web 2.0 is all about use contributed content so perhaps a section where people can review ringtones is an idea. user contributed content is great in theory but the two main problems about it is spam and getting users to post.
I would design a flashy skin too. http://www.directphoneshop.co.uk and http://www.mobilerainbow.co.uk are a couple of good examples of mobile phone web design especially as they are on the home page for the phrase "mobile phones". Mind you, unappealing sites like http://www.bestphoneshop.co.uk and http://www.mobile-phones-uk.org.uk are also in the top 10 so perhaps an SEO-focussed template would be better.
Ultimately, I would take a look at the site and see why it is not performing. A quiz baffles me but if it is sticky, it is worth keeping. The content needs sprucing up and perhaps the direction of the site needs re-evaluating. Mobile phones earn more commission than ringtones but the chances are you'll sell less than ringtones.
Which is better: 100 ringtones or 1 mobile sale? If the ringtones earn you £0.35 a time and the mobile earns you £35, they are both the same. It probably takes more effort selling a mobile phone but you need to sell less.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, it's fair to say the site is a bit of a mess of ideas. I want to try Geo-Targeting ads to it at some point - there's a big skew to US users so it would make sense to target them.
