Arghhh - Why Oh Why?

July 10th and I wrote a piece about How Not To Close An Affiliate Program.

I took down my links as requested. Job done I though.

I have just received an email saying the program is still live - arghhhhh!

Here's the email:

Dear Pixmania affiliate,

Please note that despite earlier communication stating plans to the contrary, the Pixmania program is NOT YET CLOSED, and will be active until 30th July 2007.

We apologise for any confusion this may have caused, and would like to encourage you to keep your Pixmania links active until this date. We will send a confirmation of closure once the program is officially closed.

Please note that any sales generated yesterday and today will be awarded with the correct commission due.

Best wishes,
TradeDoubler
So why are Pixmania (part of the Dixons Group - DSGi) and Tradedoubler playing the giddy goat? Why tell people the program will close in 1 day's time and then 3 days later tell them it'll be live for another 2 weeks?

Needless to say, I won't be adding the links back for a measly 2 weeks. They shouldn't have got me back up 3 days ago with 1 days notice.

So, to build upon "How Not To Close An Affiliate Program", don't close a program with 1 days notice, then reopen it 3 days later for 2 weeks.

Sidenote: I've just realised it's Friday 13th. Maybe that's why!

Yup, its most definately your unlucky day. Particularly if you have high blood pressure, lol.

I recommend hiding under the bed with your computer switched off. They won't get you that way!
