Calling Anyone Living In Wales Wanting Channel 4

If you live in Wales, you will be familiar with S4C - the Welsh version of Channel 4. Here in Wales, we don't get channel 4. What we get is a BBC channel (S4C) that shows some programmes from Channel 4 and other Welsh language programmes.

Matthew Willis has created a petition to ask for a choice of what to watch: channel 4 or S4C. Matthew doesn't ask for one or the other - his vision of Wales is for both to co-exist.

Please visit http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/WelshChannel4/ and add your voice if you are in agreement.

I'm not against S4C - I would just like a choice. I learnt Welsh at school and worked for a while in a predominantly Welsh speaking office in rural Wales. I can't hold a conversation in Welsh but I know the odd word here and there.

This petition isn't a case of eliminating the Welsh language - it's just about our basic right of choice.

For those outside of Wales who feel a bit left out, some other petitions about TV include:

Petition to: Ban Reality TV Shows & Give TV back to the Real Entertainers. (currently has 22 supporters)

Petition to: Make the TV companies remove the compulsory red interactive button which ... (currently has 6 supporters)

Petition to: Reduce the TV License for those people still unable to receive Digital TV in ... (currently has 8 supporters)

Petition to: scrap TV Licence for students in higher education living away from home. (currently has 96 supporters)

PS) I've not signed these petitions, only the one at http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/WelshChannel4/ !
