Anyone Need An Affiliate Manager?

Here's an email from Roman:

Dear Sir/Madam,
I'm writing you according affiliate(account) manager position.

Affiliate program manager is a person who managing company's affiliate program at affiliate networks like commission-junction, google adwords,etc.

I would appreciate if you could to advice a person I can send my CV if your company has a vacation to this role.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I've got a few problems with this message that may help to educate people who email affiliates.
 
1 - Who Am I?

It takes less than a millisecond to know my name. It's at the top of every page. It's sprinkled here and there, including the domain name. From my name (David), most people will safely assume this is a bloke's name. So why address an email as "Dear Sir/Madam"? It's not just Roman who's fallen into that group. Francesca Aldred of envirofone wants to recruit me as an affiliate. She hasn't replied to my emails and has addressed the email as 'Hi'. That's no good - I want a personal email else I may as well mark it as spam.

2 - What Do I Do?

If you are going to email, please understand what I do. It's not difficult. I am an affiliate marketer. That's all you need to understand. Francesca was correct to email but incorrect in how she's executed that. Roman should never have sent this email as it is not relevant to me. 2 minutes on this site would have made that plain to see.

Furthermore, Roman has explained to me what an affiliate manager does. Thanks for that. Would affiliate managers agree that this is what they do - "Affiliate program manager is a person who managing company's affiliate program at affiliate networks like commission-junction, google adwords,etc."?

That's it!

By all means, email me if you a) know what I do and b) offer me something personal to me. If you are plugging an affiliate program, tell me why it would benefit me and which site you feel it would be suitable for. It doesn't take long and it gives me more of an incentive to sign up.

If you're after a job I've got nothing to offer yet :-)

You were right about why I didn't receive any answer from all these companies.

I submitted message thru the 'contact' & freedback forms.
-At that time I didn't know anybody from these companies.

Unfortunatelly for me I sumitted it to your personal form too. I didn't know that it will make you so angry(my fault! remind me about it next a4uexpo and I will excuse personally(+any drink you like)!)

I've got one answer from merchant(now I know him and send messages personally[by name] to this guy) and they arranged an interview allready.

David, I'm really sorry for this 'general' iquiry message which I sent to you and I promice it never will happen again.

@Roman - Not angry but it's annoying receiving these type of emails as well as impersonal emails from merchants looking to recruit me. Good luck with your interview and when you send emails to your affiliates, please put their name in each email!

Complitelly agree with you.
We receive too many 'unwanted' emails every day and such 'general' messages make us angry.
