Some preach that if you build a site and do absolutely nothing, you will not get any results. I'm happy to report it's not true.
I built a site a few months ago and never got round to finishing it off. I haven't promoted it directly (it's in a sub-folder of another domain - that's how important it was to me). I just added a sitemap to Google.
Anyhow, I've just logged into a network to find that I've generated roughly one lead a day throughout September. Yes it's not a stupidly large amount of cash but nevertheless, it pays for a year's worth of reseller hosting :-)
The morale of this tale is that even if you get bored half way through developing a site, still let it run live. So long as the site works, you could do quite well from it. Of course you aren't going to get a traffic stampede anytime soon but you could get a trickle that converts.

@Tipster -LOL! the sites I put more effort into do much better but i was nice logging in to check my account and voilą, the site's generated approximately 30 leads!

What an excellent idea. I've sweated blood over the past 2 years building and updating my website. For very little reward. May be I should have followed your example.
