Holiday Cooking

What do you do when you've had a few drinks this Christmas but feel hungry?

Supersize or get creative!

Here's a couple of foody websites that are top notch and worthy of five minutes of your time, even if you're not drunk!

Pimp That Snack

You may have heard / watched Pimp My Ride, a TV programme where they take an old car and pimp it up with gadgets, a new body kit and a paint job.

Pimp That Snack follows none of those principles. Instead, it looks at making giant versions of food. The most popular ones at the moment include a giant Creme Egg ('cos the small ones are too small!) and Gummy Bears the size of small pop bottles!

I've tried a few, so this is a tried and tested website! I tried the 2 litre cola bottle but that failed after I put it in the freezer - bad move! Tried a giant raspberry ruffle (the size of a baking tray) which worked a treat and tasted just like the real thing. Only problem was it was too big! Last but not least, I tried my hand at a giant Sesame Snap which worked for the first few hours, but then the sugar started to go soft and the whole lot turned into a sesame seed / sugar mush.

Nevertheless, a fun way to see whether you can supersize some food!

Stump The Chef

I found this almost by accident. Stump the Chef is full of videos where they present 3 ingredients to a chef who has to make something tasty out of it.

I've just watched the chef create buffalo wrapped in squid drizzled with chocolate sauce (which tastes nice apparently) and I'm just about to start watching a video about alligator, liquorice and a tin of sweetcorn!
