Am I the only one that gets this? Isn't it polite and 'the done thing' to expect a reciprocal link if you agree to link to someone?
Perhaps it's just me but a company in Colchester seems to think they can have a one way link in a reciprocal link exchange.
Furthermore, when will people realise that if they want a link on the home page, they need to do the same and link back from their home page?
Naturally I'm talking about free and relevant links here as I suppose paid links are generally one way. I wouldn't know as I don't have any paid links, just affiliate links.
But it seems logical that if I request a link from yourdomain.com, I would be expected to link back to them.
Furthermore, if someone asked for a link to be added to the home page, I would expect that they would then add a reciprocal link on their home page, not on page 10 of their links page.
Any thoughts on this?

The website in question has now advised me that they update their links page monthly so I've advised them 1 month after they add my link, I'll add theirs. They get what they give in Reciprocal Link Exchanges.

Is it worth waiting for them? How long does it take to add a link for heavens sake?!

@Gadget - Certainly not! They shouldn't be asking for links if they cannot reciprocate within a reasonable amount of time. If it takes them a month to add a new link, they need a new web design team!

Totally agree David. On my blog I always do a like for like exchange. As it's a gadget blog this means just putting other gadget blogs on the blogroll, and always on the home page. What's also surprising is the number of people who link they can put something up for a week then take it down without me noticing!
