Tell Me Why Your Cancelling Commissions

It is 2007 and as of yet, some networks are incapable of actually passing information through to affiliates. Some have taken the bull by the horns and actually tell you why commission is cancelled. As far as I'm aware, Affiliate Future do as does Paid on Results. My bug bear is with DGM today.

I've had a lucrative sale cancelled and no explanation given. I understand that a network/merchant can cancel commissions. It's not my first cancellation and I doubt it'll be my last.

All I want is for networks to pass information such as why a sale is cancelled through to affiliates.

If I know why a sale was cancelled, I can help to minimise those type of sales. For example, if a loan application is cancelled because the applicant is not a home-owner, I can add some text on my site(s) that states "all applicants must be a home-owner".

Naturally, all cancellations cannot be acted upon. For instance, there's very little I can do about fraudulent transactions or the customer cancelling the order. But it would still be nice to know why it was cancelled.

What do you think?
