In creating my portfolio, I have inadvertently created a highly seasonal group of sites. September to March is usually the peak, with the summer being not a great time for the group.
This cropped up last year and I introduced my (not really that successful) Hotel Room UK site and Lingerie Helper, which needs a radical makeover.
I suppose this is the point where it's important to keep complacency at bay.
The thing is, I've developed a couple of sites but I haven't had the same sort of passion (or interest to be honest) as I have when developing solutions like Compare Sat Nav.
I know exactly what I need to do - rationalise my portfolio.
I've got a few sites lingering around that need decent content. It's simply finding time (passion, and enthusiasm) to update them. I'm very much in developer mode at the moment and I'm coming up with web applications left, right and centre. It appeals more than writing content!
Will anything change?
I hope so else I'll be back here next year ranting about the same thing. I've got a couple of sites a few weeks away from launch which should provide some non-seasonal income. Also, I have some crafty ideas about where to move my portfolio, directionally speaking.
Time will tell, time will tell.
