A Moan About... Royal Mail

Woo hoo! They've made it to another rant post. After being picky about an envelope flap, various strikes and failed deliveries, you'd have thought they would have made changes, learned lessons and moved on.

Well in reality land, nothing has changed and I've suffered another "Sorry, you were out" attack whilst I was in. In a double blow, their sister company Parcel Force is also dealing blows.

I was awaiting a Special Delivery package for Sat Nav Reviews. It was guaranteed for delivery by 1pm today. At 2pm the postman delivered the mail. In it I found a "Sorry, you were out" card - arghh! I'm here. I saw you leave the mail. I saw you walk off the property. How was I not here?

Alas, I wasn't quick enough to chase him down the road so I phoned Royal Mail. The package will be redelivered in 2 days time due to the unique way Royal Mail work. From the sounds of it, the postman's taken it home with him and he'll redeliver it on Saturday as someone else will deliver the mail tomorrow!

To add insult to injury, I was expecting Parcel Farce Parcel Force to collect a package today. Alas, they've not turned up with no explanation given.

It seems the Royal Mail Group is back to it's old ways (I've had a few months of consistent deliveries though my one and only delivery occurs between 2pm and 4pm Monday to Friday, with a 9am to 11am delivery on Saturday), despite it trumpeting that it's a superbrand.

Mind you, they do describe themselves as "a brand that touches everyone" which is not necessarily a good thing, especially when it comes to poor service.

Rant over.

UPDATE: Wonder why mail gets lost?
