The comments on this blog have been free from the nofollow tag for some time now as I believe that relevant comments should be rewarded. If you've taken the time to read and comment on a post, you can quite happily post a link to your site which may be of benefit to readers of the blog.
However, comment spam is becoming more intelligent these days. Spammers are actually reading the blog! Because of this, I am changing the blog comment policy to reflect changes to the way I'm receiving comments.
The policy is a as follows.
Accepted Comments
Comments will be accepted and published so long as they meet the following criteria:
Bookmark this article in Bumpzee, Del.icio.us, Digg and Stumble Upon
Technorati tags: comment, spam, policy, nofollow

2 CommentsComments are manually approved and hence can a while to appear. Questions, informative posts, and feedback comments are gladly accepted. Spam is deleted. Spam-type comments have their links removed (Comment Policy)
@Ami - thanks for your thoughts. It's a quiet corner of the web over here so despite the moderation aspect, it doesn't take up that much time. Not a lot of readers = not a lot of comments!

Big problem for bloggers at the moment
One can understand why you feel the need to apply the above measures
Things like capchas are only useful in keeping bots out and since people are taking the time to actually post manually, this is not an option
Problem with actually moderating your comments is it can quickly consume a large chunk of time
It's quite generous of you not to use the no follow attribute
What's one to do?
