3 R's Of Writing Content

There are 3 important rules when writing content that help to make the experience better for both you as the writer and your readers.

These are:

Relevant

If your article is not relevant to your visitors, you shouldn't be writing it. This links back to 5 considerations when writing content in the sense that you need to know who your audience is to know what is relevant to them.

Researched

Writing about something you don't know about is difficult. If I had written content about International Drive without first researching it, I would have been a bit stuck. Furthermore, without proper product research, Sat Nav Reviews wouldn't be the site it is today.

If you quote from a resource, remember to reference it properly with a date and hyperlink - e.g.:

"The first chip fried in Britain was apparently on the site of Oldham's Tommyfield Market in 1860." (Wikipedia, 30th July 2008)
Regular

There's nothing worse than irregular content. Whilst on minor blogs (like this one) it is generally accepted, on major blogs like Smashing Magazine, people crave regular content. People will forget to visit or just abandon your site if you forget them.
