Whilst it's great from an SEO perspective having keywords in the name, sometimes you can create more buzz and awareness by using something unusual, funny and witty.
People tend to remember witty names as they are different. They stand out because they are humorous, witty or clever. These are the names that people are more likely to visit, and link to, on the web.
After a bit of research, here's some gems I've found to spark some creative juices:
Curl up and Dye (beauty salon)
Hair Port (beauty salon)
Nacho Mama’s (Mexican restaurant)
A Pane in the Glass (glazier)
Care of Do It Yourself
Master Baiters (fishing supplies)
Knobs and Knockers (furniture supplies)
Wright-Hassel (solicitors)
The Deli Lama (delicatessen)
Care of Answerbag
Bread Pit (bakery)
Shoeperman (as in shoe-per-man) (shoe repair)
Care of The World According To Mums
Hair Force (hair salon)
Hair I Am (beauty salon)
We Auto Know (car repair)
Care of Funny Name
Decor 8 (decorators)
M.T. Bellys (cafe)
Sizzor Sisters (hair salon)
Battersea Cod's home (chip shop)
Tan A Reef (tanning salon)
Codfather (chip shop)
Suck Cess (sewerage firm)
Doggy Style (dog grooming salon)
Doolittle and Dalley (estate agents - although perhaps not the best name for them!)
Care of Answerbank
Morale: Decide whether keywords or memorable names are more important to you. If you are after one-time visitors, I suspect a keyword optimised name is best suited to you. If you are after visitors to come back time and time again, go for something memorable.
