Let's Get Nice And Sticky

Perhaps a bit of an ominous title but apt never the less.

I'm developing a set of tactic going forward for the next 3 months and in doing so, it means I need to focus on a set of websites. So I need to work on building visitor numbers to these.

The thing is, you've got to remember to create something different to the competition in order to attract and retain visitors.

So how do you go about creating sticky features?

Create Something New

Set up a website that is completely different to anything else out there.

Create Something Better

Perhaps the easiest as not much thought needs to go into this. Create something that is better than the rest. For example, if you are writing a blog about mortgages and unsecured loans, is it enough to write about new offers?

Create A Newsletter

Give visitors a reason to come back time and time again.

Create Unique Content From a Unique Angle

Writing about memory cards isn't going to be that much fun but writing about what you could do with old memory cards could be.

Add Website-User Interaction

Something that visitors can control and manipulate will see them come back time and time again. For example, a poll or a survey.

Add User-User Interaction

Social networking can develop communities around a given area.

Add Rewards

Give visitors something in return for coming back again and again.

Respect Your Users And Be Honest With Them

Offer visitors respect and they will respect you. It's easier to get them to play your game this way.
