Set Staggered Aims

In the spur of the moment, it can seem logical to launch everything on one site at the same time. For instance, a voucher code site isn't quite the same with just chocolate merchants vouchers listed.

Or is it?

Start Small and Grow

The morale in this tale is that whilst the overall long term aim is to become successful, with search engine domination, the short term aims may work better if segmented.

How about this for the voucher code site:

  1. Week 1) Add food based retailers + discount codes
  2. Week 2) Add toy based retailers + voucher codes
  3. Week 3) Add clothes based retailers + coupons
  4. Week 4) Add remaining based retailers + deal codes
In the space of 4 weeks, you can have a site up and running with a decent amount of codes and offers (that you'd have hopefully automated or optimised to minimise the management time required) without burning out in week 1.

Personally, I haven't tended to do this before but I'm certainly looking at doing this for future projects to clear my 2008 work schedule before 31st December 2008!

I can see many benefits t working like this such as more happiness, less stress, increased time reclaimed and a general increase in productivity, not to mention a portfolio of websites that actually get "finished"!
