You are here: Home > Affiliate Industry News > Sainsbury's Knows How To Launch a Programme!
Tuesday, 11 August 2009
I'm not one to shout about new affiliate programmes all that much unless I have a reason too. And this one I do.
Sainsbury's launched yesterday on Affiliate Window thus joining the likes of Tesco and Asda who also have affiliate programmes on Tradedoubler / Silvertap and Buy.at respectively.
Not content with being the new kid on the block, Sainsbury's have decided to launch with a flying start in terms of incentives!
There are three incentives schemes running.
Win a £10 Voucher
This is a simple one. Just pop up a banner or a link and drive your first sale in the next month or so and they'll send you a £10 voucher to say thanks! I usually moan about how most incentives are aimed towards the big boys but this one is fairly and squarely aimed at everyone.
You Choose The Prize
Flex your creative muscles here and you could win a prize! All you need to do is promote Sainsbury's some how. Write a great blog post, review a product, design a landing page, use a content widget, or integrate some banners in a fun and unique way.
If you win, you get to pick a prize from a list of prizes ranging from a digital camera, golf kit, coffee maker, champagne flutes right down to a snazzy mug.
Virtual Supermarket Sweep
Remember Dale and his supermarket full of prizes? Sainsbury's are going to run a virtual one (hopefully with a Dale lookalike!).
All sales will be entered into a big pot (incidentally one of the prizes you can choose to win above) and one lucky person will be invited to Sainsbury's HQ. In a pre-designated amount of time (I'd guess 1 or 2 minutes), you add as much as you can to your virtual shopping basket. You win everything you add! How brilliant is that?
I think the choice is from their home delivery range which is available through one affiliate programme on Awin, rather than their grocery range which is available through a separate programme on the network.
It’s a fun competition and I did take a quick trial yesterday out of sheer curiosity. I managed to add quite a few electricals to the cart :-) . I think I ended up with around a dozen items in a couple of minutes. Why not try yourself? It's a great way to see what Sainsbury's have to offer without feeling like it's a chore. Comment below with your score in 2 minutes – 12 to beat!
As I said above, the programme is on Awin and it offers a good rate of commission. I was approved within around 10 minutes too which was very handy indeed. I don’t like waiting!
