You are here: Home > Running An Affiliate Business > UPDATE: Why Should I Take The Blame For Unauthorised Voucher Code Usage?
Monday, 17 August 2009
Remember my moan about how I was penalised other affiliates promoting a voucher code that they shouldn't be? Well since then I've heard nothing from the agency managing the program. I sent them the link and they said they would read the article but I've not heard any comments from them.
Anyway, a second sale was generated for them last week and alas, it too was cancelled. Different reason this time:
Dear Affiliate we were unable to process some of your transactions due to you not being the last referrer before the sale. Please contact xxx @ xxx.com if you wish to discuss this further. Kind regards, xxxThey're having a right laugh now!

It seems there are a fair few ways unscrupulous affiliates can sabotage your business and little you can do about it. Things need to be tightened up a little imo. Good luck getting it sorted :)

The merchant's affiliate is basically a marketplace for web distribution; they put an offer on the table and expect take up will be worthwhile. If most affiliates go on to sprint a brand regardless (most will), the merchant has no reason to change, the market is working well for them.

I've emailed the network as I feel they should investigate how many cancellations are actually being made. Not sure if it will help but worth a shot.
