It's no secret that at this time of year, there are a good few merchants who like to share the festive joy. They run fun competitions such as the Affiliate Window Christmas Challenges, which offer a break from the norm and invite affiliates to partake in festive frivolities.
As with such competitions you have to be in it to win it. This was also true of the Virginia Hayward competition I blogged about a while back. All you had to to was write a review to be entered into the competition. How easy was that? As an affiliate and customer of theirs, writing about them was a piece of cake.
The upshot is I won and took delivery of a rather nice looking (heavy) box this morning.

The hamper arrived in a dark green box, emblazoned with Virginia Hayward. A big orange sticker directs you to lift up the address label which splits into a gift message card on the reverse (clever packaging).
Inside was the hamper (phew!). Rather than the wicker one in the stock photo below, it was a much better looking (and more practical) leather type cube box.

Inside, the contents are the same as the picture above. Lots of luxury goodies and indulgent treats that can be shared (the wine's on it's way Dad!) during this Christmas time. Wine, champers, cakes, biscuits and chocolates - loads of the stuff that makes Christmas what it is!
All the contents were nestled in plenty of eco-friendly bio-degradable foam packing peanuts. A lot of emphasis has gone into minimising the waste, maximising what can be re-used and the remainder is recyclable. The address label is also a gift card, which can in turn be recycled. The outer box is cardboard which can be re-used and recycled. The packing peanuts bio-degrade and the hamper itself can be re-used as a stylish storage box. The eco aspect is certainly something worth pushing more IMO.
Overall, between the stylish packaging and the copious amounts of luxury food and drink, it's easy to see why everyone I've sent one (albeit slightly smaller!) to has raved about the quality.
Merry Christmas to Alex and the rest of Virgina Hayward.
