According to my mother I'm not a twit but more a tweeter, as I now tweet rather than twit.

The point here is that I've taken the plunge and registered for a Twitter account. It's taken Rob a long long time to convince me to sign up. I wasn't convinced of it's merits but he was and told me that if I did one thing in 2010, signing up was it.
 
So that's the story behind it.

I'm still not sure it's of any use. I am following a few very loud people who twit/tweet heavily so most of what I follow is somewhat drowned out. That said, the quality of tweets from some is really high and I've learnt quite a bit of stuff since I registered, some useful and some not so.

Just in case my account becomes as popular as the likes of Stephen Fry with his mere 1,266,032 followers today or the likes of a great success story that is the Blogger powered site (with a book deal) Cake Wrecks with 1,254,582 followers, I thought I'd post my stats as of today. I have a whopping 49 followers :-D

Granted I post a load of rubbish, poorly attempt to interact with other Twitter-ers/Twits/Tweeters, and re-tweet a fair bit so I think the hope for a million followers may have flown out the window.

Anyhoo, I'm using my Twitter account for day to day frivolities and nonsense for the time being. I'll still be posting here but they should be more useful posts with any luck.
